Where Emotion Becomes Art

Watercolors by Edward wade-Created to Be felt, Not Just Seen

Where the Brush Meets the Soul

"Behind every painting is a part of my journey-a trace of joy, faith, and quiet wonder. Each brushstroke carries a moment I didn't want to loose. In this short film, I invite you to see the world through my eyes, and perhaps, find a bit of your own story there too."

“Paintings that remind you of what time forgets.”

“Watercolors that preserve memory, emotion, and the quiet beauty of everyday life.”

Step inside, and let the paintings speak for themselves. Each watercolor Edward creates is more than pigment on paper—it is a fragment of memory, a quiet story, a glimpse of life as it truly is. These works are chosen not to decorate a wall, but to linger in the heart, to call you back to moments you thought you’d forgotten.

Here you’ll find fishermen drifting on still waters, a warrior standing with timeless strength, the gentle curve of a human figure captured in thought. Each piece asks you to pause, to reflect, to carry something deeper into your own space.

This gallery is not only about art—it is about remembering, feeling, and finding beauty that stays with you long after the first glance.

Every collector who follows this line from pencil to paint discovers not just a piece of art, but a living fragment of the artist's heart

This brief glimpse into Edward Wade's process reveals more than a sketch-it reveals a promise.

Edward Wade

Collectors often tell me that they feel the same stillness I feel when they live with my work. The calm, the remembering, the sense that something familiar has been restored. That's what I hope for every painting...that it would be more than just something to look at, but something to feel, a shared heartbeat between artist and collector, where both of us are reminded of what endures.

Because when I paint, time really slows down. The noise of the world fades, and what remains are the quiet things...light on an old barn, the curve of a face lost in thought, a fleeting stillness that asks to be remembered. Painting, for me, is a way of listening, to the spirit of a moment, to the voice of memory, to the grace that often hides in plain sight and if you are anything like me I am sure you feel the same way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What inspires Edward’s paintings?

I am drawn to the quiet beauty of everyday life—the moments most people pass by without noticing. A barn leaning gently into the wind, a fisherman waiting on still water, the curve of a face deep in thought. These scenes carry stories, and in watercolor I’ve found a way to give them permanence. My art is my way of remembering what time so easily forgets.

How do you choose what to paint?

Often, the subject chooses me. A weathered barn, a fisherman waiting on still water, the glance of a face deep in thought—these things speak before I ever lift a brush. I paint what lingers in the heart, what whispers of memory and meaning. My art is less about choosing a subject and more about answering when a moment calls.

Why watercolor?

Watercolor has always felt like the perfect language for what I want to say. It is unpredictable, delicate, and fleeting—just like the moments I try to capture. Its softness allows me to paint not only what is seen, but what is felt: memory, atmosphere, emotion. Each brushstroke carries both control and surrender, much like life itself. Plus, my art teacher told me that it was the hardest because it is transparent

What do you hope people feel when they see your work?

I hope they feel a pause—like stepping into a slower rhythm of life. My desire is for each painting to stir recognition, even if they’ve never stood in that barnyard or drifted on that lake. Art has the power to remind us of our shared humanity, and I want my work to bring comfort, reflection, and a sense of belonging.

Are these original works or prints?

On my site, you’ll find both. My original watercolors are one-of-a-kind pieces that carry the full spirit of the moment they were painted. I also offer archival-quality prints, made with care so that collectors can bring these stories into their homes at a more accessible price, without losing the richness of the original.

How do I know this artwork will fit into my home?

The people who live with my paintings often say that the work doesn’t just “hang on the wall”—it becomes part of the rhythm of their space. These are pieces that invite calm, spark reflection, and carry a sense of familiarity. Whether in a modern home or a country retreat, the art adapts, because it’s rooted in universal human experiences.

What makes your work different from other watercolor artists?

I don't paint to impress; I paint to remember. My work is not about dazzling with detail, but about distilling life into its simplest, most meaningful forms. Many of my collectors tell me that when they look at a piece, they don’t just see a barn, a face, or a fisherman—they see themselves, their families, their own histories reflected back.

Who collects your work?

My collectors are thoughtful people who value story and authenticity. They see art not just as an object, but as a way of preserving memory, culture, and beauty. Many live with a sense of intentionality—choosing handcrafted, meaningful pieces over the disposable. They often tell me that my paintings don’t just fit into their homes, but into their lives

Can I commission a custom piece?

Yes, I occasionally accept commissions when they align with my vision and schedule. Collectors often come to me with a story, a place, or a memory they want preserved in watercolor. If you have something meaningful you’d like captured, reach out—I’d be honored to talk with you about it.

What do collectors usually say about your work?

The words I hear most often are nostalgic, calming, and timeless. Many tell me that a painting reminds them of their childhood home, a loved one, or a moment they thought they had forgotten. For me, that is the highest compliment—that the work doesn’t just show a scene, but stirs a memory already living inside the collector.

How should I care for watercolor artwork?

Watercolors are best kept out of direct sunlight and framed under UV-protective glass. Each piece is created on archival-quality paper, ensuring that with proper care, it will endure for generations. My collectors often say these pieces feel like family heirlooms—something to pass down, not just hang up.

Why should I invest in your art?

Because art is not just about filling a space—it’s about filling a life. When you bring a piece of mine into your home, you are preserving a story, safeguarding a memory, and surrounding yourself with work that slows time down. Collectors often say that my paintings become anchors of stillness in their homes, places to breathe and reflect.
